BAB, from Caspe Street to Vilanova i la Geltrú
A two-day stay full of activities at Masía Notari

Leaving Barcelona
Hello! What's going on?
This post is not really about work, but we are very excited to share it with you. As we always talk to you about technical and serious topics .... this time it's more about leisure or we could say something more "playful-festive" work.
The first week of February, on the 7th and 8th, the whole BAB team made an outing to the Masia Notari in Vilanova i la Geltrú. It is a very cozy and unique environment, for a meeting and activities that we had been planning for a long time and had not been able to do yet for various reasons, but this time everything went smoothly and it went great. It couldn't have been better!
An update and total renovation of the workspace in BAB's professional office in Caspe street. This has been our ideal excuse to leave our office and find a "comfort zone", never better said. During two intense days and 45 km from Barcelona, Gerard Artés, Dani Fernández and Sergi Panisello as BAB managers, convinced us that not everything has to be work in this life and in Masía Notari we put it into practice. The truth is that it has not been bad at all and we believe that it could be done more often. It encourages group building, creates good vibes and gives us all health.

We would also like to give a special thanks to Magda Muñoz, our colleague responsible for administrative tasks at BAB. After a thorough search, she found the perfect environment for the needs of the meeting. We would also like to thank Mar Belzunces, manager and hospitality manager of Masía Notari, for her agility and kindness in the negotiations, as well as for her warm welcome.
The farmhouse is centenary, with documented references dating back to 1452, owned by the same family saga that for generations has been maintaining, remodeling and adapting to make it what it is today: A privileged space with all the comforts of a hotel, but with the charm of a rural house and the added value of so many centuries of history. In short, a unique setting for a special event.

Talks and presentations
An important part of BAB's daily work is technology, both in the development and maintenance of Comitium, our own CMS specialized in digital newspapers, as well as in training and adaptation in such a demanding and changing environment as the information and communication technologies.
We dedicate most of our time to our clients and their projects with a high level of demand. This time, we have done it in a more relaxed way and sharing different points of view. We were able to talk about future improvements, and this is something that, due to the daily rhythm, is sometimes not easy. Undoubtedly, at Masía Notari we were able to work in a different way.
On Thursday 7th after arrival, we acclimatized to the environment and chose our room. We worked for a while, to warm up, and with the laptops open, we had a relaxed time. We realized that it is possible to have optimal work results and be in a cozy environment.
In the middle of the morning, Óscar Jimenez, BAB's CTO, made an interesting talk about the continuous integration systems in Comitium, which increase security in version control and implementations of new features in Comitium CMS. On the other hand, they allow to do them in a transparent way for our customers, without interruptions in the service and with maximum versatility and efficiency.

After the talk our Project Manager, Dani Fernández, treated us to a fantastic meal. It must be said, among other things, that Dani is an exceptional cook and that he takes advantage of every opportunity to demonstrate his culinary skills, which, by the way, are very varied and tasty.

After lunch, Sergi Panisello, the Creative & Art Director of BAB, gave us an interesting talk about the importance of UX/UI in the web environment. He explained how the user experience and a careful graphic environment, are key factors to build loyalty and improve the link with consumers of content for publishing projects on the Internet.

In the afternoon we had free time. Some preferred to go jogging for a while, taking advantage of the natural environment, and some took the opportunity to demonstrate their innate skills on a foosball table or in front of a ping-pong table.

In the evening, burgers prepared by Dani, the "BAB chef", again at the helm of the stove. We had an after-dinner drink and after relaxing, we went straight to rest.

On Friday morning we had a new talk by Oscar Jimenez on the roadmap of Comitium CMS implementations in the short and medium term, also a couple of internal talks that rounded off two days of activities and sharing of topics and very enriching discussions.
Another activity that had been pending at BAB for a long time was a kart race. As it could not be otherwise, Magda organized it and found a karting near Masía Notari. We all enjoyed like children taking advantage of the opportunity to bring out 'the racing driver' that we all carry inside. As someone said... health and gasoline!

Finally, we concluded the two days of activities with a brotherhood meal with good barbecue, calçots, meat and better company in a restaurant in Vilanova. All good things come to an end, but this is a fantastic way to do it.
The table is well presented and ready for the closing meal of the activities.
